CFO & Co-Founder
Bennett serves as Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder of Oceans Strategies.
He is responsible for Oceans Strategies strategic planning and he advises our clients and partners on the services that we provide.
Bennett has over 25 years of experience in the financial services, local government, and investment banking industries. He began his career as Managing Director with A.C. Advisory, Inc., where he spent 10 years. There he ran the execution and pricing for over $34 Billion of municipal bond issues.
Afterwards, he was appointed Budget Director for the City of Chicago by former Mayor Richard M. Daley. As Budget Director, he was responsible for the city’s $6 Billion operational budget and the $8 Billion capital budget for over 40 Departments with more than 35,000 employees.
He then partnered with Ryan Anthony to start Oceans Strategies.
Bennett attended Harvard University where he earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering Sciences. While at Harvard he played varsity men’s volleyball for 4 years. He then received his master’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the London School of Economics.
Bennett serves on several Charity boards including The One Heart Movement, The Young People Project, Lydia Smith Sickle Cell Foundation, Get-Lit, DePaul University College of Education Advisory Board and The Center for Neighborhood Technology.
COO & Managing Partner
Joel serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner of Oceans Strategies.
He is responsible for operations as well as advising high-net-worth families and businesses on the financial strategies that Oceans Strategies provides to its clients.
Joel began his career as a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual’s college internship program.
After his internship concluded he attended Logan University to pursue the path of being a licensed Chiropractic Physician.
After practicing for 3 years, he decided to utilize his business and marketing skills to consult corporations and startups on their business advisory needs.
In 2016, he joined Oceans Strategies to assist his clients with their insurance, retirement planning, investments and business tax credit needs.
Joel is an avid golfer and enjoys teaching others the game. He also enjoys playing chess with his son. Joel and his wife are active in their community to make it a better place to live.
He serves on the board of Billie's Kids a non-for-profit that provides a Christmas experience for less fortunate families.
He can be found cheering for his favorite sports teams the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues.

Marc serves as the Chief Transformational Officer for Oceans Strategies.
His responsibilities are to help Oceans Strategies scale as a firm and offer strategic planning.
Marc is an author, speaker and consultant recognized as a thought leader throughout North America as an expert in strategy & strategic planning.
The release of his second book, Momentum: How Companies Decide What to Do Next, was covered online by Yahoo Finance, Marketwatch, CBS and NBC. Marc is a frequent contributor to the Vistage Research Center, Inc.com and Forbes.com.
Marc has an impressive client list including public companies such as Starbucks, CBRE, Rio Tinto, Justice (stores), Klipsch and over 170 private companies.
Marc has worked in a diverse range of industries including financial services, health care, technology and energy.
He has also served as an advisor to several serial entrepreneurs and has served on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards.
Marc resides in Los Angeles with his family.
He can also be found rooting for his favorite teams the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lakers and Rams.
