Our Team

Ryan is the Founder and CEO of Oceans Strategies.  Ryan has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career as a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual's College Internship Program. During his senior year, Sports Illustrated recognized him as one of America's top business interns. He spent 10 successful years with Northwestern Mutual and in 2007 founded Oceans Strategies.

Ryan attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he earned a degree in Communications and a minor in Political Science. In 2010, the University dedicated and named the new sports arena ticket office The Ryan Anthony Athletic Ticket Office to recognize his support and contributions to the University.

Ryan is the Co-Founder of The Hope Center in Chicago and supports Southern Illinois University and many non-profits around the world.

Bennett is a partner and the CFO of Oceans Strategies. Bennett has over 30 years of experience in the financial services, investment banking and local government industries.  He began his career as an investment banker and Managing Director with A.C Advisory, where he spent 10 years.  He ran the execution and pricing for over $34 billion of municipal bond issues. Bennett was then appointed the Budget Director for the City of Chicago by former Mayor Richard M. Daley. As Budget Director, he was responsible for the city's $6 billion operational budget and the $8 billion capital budget for over 40 departments with more than 35,000 employees. In 2012 he became a partner and CFO of Oceans Strategies.

Bennett attended Harvard University where he earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering Sciences. He then received his Masters Degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the London School of Economics.

Bennett serves on several non-profit boards and supports many others around the world.

Joel is a Partner and COO of Oceans Strategies. Joel began his career as a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual's College Internship Program. After his internship concluded he attended Logan University of Chiropractic. After graduating and passing the boards he was a practicing physician for 3 years. Joel then consulted with corporations and start-ups in the business advisory space. In 2016 he became a partner and COO of Oceans Strategies.

Joel supports many non-profit organizations around the world.
